Chris
Johnson AKA Young Dunce was born August 17 1989 to the proud parents
Paula Johnson and Frank Sims.He grew up and still lives at 61st
and Jackson. His experiences growing up in the inner city have
forged him into the provocative powerful force as the voice of
the inner city youth.
Young Duce never gives up on what he believes in, goals he sets
for himself he always achieves. In his youth he was curious about
everything and asked questions about any and everything which
gave him a knowledge base that he has used in his writing and
rhymes. His mother is a essential part of his life. She has and
is always there for him and his brothers through the good and
the bad and supports him in all of his endeavors. His father has
passed his tools of motivation to him and to never give up on
his dreams no matter what others opinion may be. His father also
taught him the importance of a true work ethic and how to get
his hustle on.
Young Duce's career as a emcee began in the fifth grade performing
in a variety of talent shows in elementary school. One of the
highlights being a show featured on the local news for the Martin
Luther King celebration.
He strayed away from the game for a while but never lost his
passion. Young Duce has evolved from a battle tested D-boy freestyler
into a lyrical master focusing on bringing attention to the struggle
that the youth face, not only in the inner-city but as a whole.
Being the youngest member of “The Brothers of Consciousness”
Young Duce has his eye on the prize and is setting the Hip Hop
universe back in alignment with the first of many projects “The
sounds of the streets”
